I am personally deeply saddened by the death of one of my very favourite female singers, the great Whitney Houston. Whitney has the honour of having 4 beautiful inspirational songs in the list below, which I created in 2005. I also learnt to sing 2 of Whitney's classic songs last year. I read about her shock death on a train on the way to a busking session in Sydney's Central Tunnel, and when I sang "Greatest Love Of All," I couldn't stop crying. It was the same with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." It may be a while before I can sing these songs properly again, unless I just shut off my emotions, like Elton John had to do when he sang at Princess Diana's funeral.

You stand supreme as the only artist to ever have seven consecutive number one singles in the USA. Along with John Farnham (solo and with Little River Band), the great Australian pop singer, and Bratz, who specialize in inspirational pop rock, you are the only artist to have 4 songs on my "55 Inspirational Pop Songs" compilation. I also have your very uplifting 2009 comeback hit "Million Dollar Bill" on one of my iPod playlists, and your 2 CD "Greatest Hits" compilation has long been a treasured album in my CD collection.

You are, without any doubt, one of the all time greatest singers on Earth, and you will always be in my heart.

In 2005, I bought my fist ever MP3 players and soon afterwards I meticulously selected the following list of 55 inspirational pop songs, which I loaded onto one of them.
